Dave Shearer to replace Stephen Walker as GM of 5MU & Power FM Murray Bridge

Staff Writer

Radio Murray Bridge – including Power FM and 5MU – has appointed a new general manager.

Dave Shearer will take over from Stephen Walker, who, after more than 11 years, is stepping back.

The radio network’s owner, Grant Broadcasters, thanked Walker for his untiring contribution and drive steering the stations over the past decade.

Shearer joins having held previous roles as content director at Nova and FIVEaa in Adelaide, and general manager of Fresh 92.7.

Peter Upton, the regional general manager for Grant Broadcasters across Victoria and South Australia, said it’s great to have Shearer join the team.

“With 5MU recently converting to FM and with a number of new shows launched on both 5MU and Power FM, it’s a great time for Dave to take over steering this team to continued success,” he said.

The new recruit, Shearer, added: “I’m really looking forward to joining the team at Grant Broadcasters who are totally committed to being leaders in local across Australia. I can’t wait to get started and to help further build the business in what is an exciting time for radio.”

Shearer will commence his new role from April 6.

One of the absolute greats! Dave is a great get for Grant. He will be great for new and old talent alike. Should of been back in radio ages ago!
