Former Triple M announcer David Nash will host the mid-morning show and special events at Australian 24/7 heavy music online radio station, The Faction.

Launched in 2017, The Faction draws listeners via social media, its app and on iHeartRadio.

Nash said this morning he “could not be more thrilled” to join The Faction.

“I haven’t met anyone more passionate about heavy music and using radio/streaming as a medium to champion the genre – and that’s what I’m all about – this is a perfect fit,” he said.

Starting out on community radio and then a panel op at Star FM in Shepparton, Victoria, Nash was at Triple M in Cairns and Brisbane before moving on in mid-2020.

Nash will also host the station’s annual Hardest 100 countdown, launched in 2018 to honour the 50th anniversary of the heavy metal genre (ie. the birthday of Black Sabbath’s debut album).

The Faction station manager, Tim Price, said Nash’s years of experience on-air, love of heavy music, his relatability, enthusiasm and passion make him the perfect fit for the station.

“There’s just something so human about having someone there in the morning and workday with you on-air, reflecting back your love of heavy music,” he said.

Nash’s new morning show runs from 9am to midday (AEST), weekdays on The Faction.
