Double J names its best 50 albums of 2018
Double J has published its annual list counting down its top 50 albums of the year.
In naming the top 50, the station spoke about the albums as “new companions” for the year.
These albums have been “sources of comfort, sources of joy. Physical and digital artefacts we turn to when searching for solace, a jolt of energy, a moment of reflection.”
In announcing the 50, Double J also made it a point to mention the importance of the format of the album, in an age where streaming and playlists make singles increasingly listenable.
“Whether you’ve had a great 2018 or you’re willing a cruel year to end, we hope you get as much out of these records as we did,” said the digital station.
“And that you’re ready to do it all again in 2019.”
