Dylan Alcott won’t return to triple j in 2019

Former Assistant Editor

triple j presenter Dylan Alcott is taking a break from radio in 2019.

Dylan is preparing to compete at the Paralympics in Tokyo, 2020, and told triple listeners on Wednesday that he’ll be taking some time off to hone his preparation.

“After what has been an awesome two years, it’s with a heavy heart to announce that I won’t be returning to triple j on a regular basis in 2019,” he confirmed on Instagram.

Dylan has previously represented Australia at the Paralympics in wheelchair basketball and wheelchair tennis.

He won a gold medal in basketball at the age of 17, and won gold medals in the Men’s Quad Singles and Doubles tennis in 2016.

He’s won the Australian Open wheelchair tennis title for the last four years running and the US Open twice.

After what has been an awesome two years, it’s with a heavy heart to announce that I won’t be returning to @triple_j on a regular basis in 2019. Working at triple j has been effing amazing for two reasons – 1. The incredible people that work there and the awesome artists and guests that give their time and make it easy for us presenters and producers. And 2. The legendary listeners who make getting on air an absolute pleasure every time. For everyone who has sent in a text or come up and say gday on the street, I really appreciate it. I loved every second of it, and I’ll miss ya, but I’ll be seeing you soon.. Much love xx
