Ex-triple j favourites Matt & Alex reunite on ‘Mirth’ podcast

It may only be a one-off, but fans of the Matt Okine & Alex Dyson triple j Breakfast show will undoubtedly be stoked to hear the pair back behind the mics.

They were well-loved by the audience of the public broadcaster during their three years on Brekky, but Matt & Alex have spent precious little time together since departing in 2016, replaced by current hosts Ben & Liam.

Matt joined Alex for his Melbourne Comedy Show podcast Mirth as a special guest host, filling in for fellow triple j alumni Kyran Wheatley.

“It’s so weird listening to you say brand names,” quipped Matt.

“There’s great stadiums Marvel Stadium that we can finally say the names,” responded Alex.

Since departing triple j for their own individual projects, Alex has since said he wouldn’t rule out a radio reunion with Matt if the opportunity came up.

From the sounds of things, the pair haven’t missed a beat and could definitely still cut it on the airwaves.
