Fireworks barge explodes during Hit Canberra Skyfire event
A barge of fireworks at an event run by SCA’s Hit104.7 exploded into flames on Saturday night, leaving spectators scrambling for cover.
As the ABC reports, The Skyfire event took place on the edge of Lake Burley Griffin, with the show beginning at 8:30pm.
Several videos from the event have popped up on social media since Saturday, with the vision showing a loud explosion and several crowd members screaming and fleeing the embers.

In a statement, Hit104.7 said that there were no injuries and confirmed that”one firework” had malfunctioned but that the barge was isolated swiftly.
