Johnny & Davo to take over Fresh 92.7 Breakfast

Former Editor & Content Director

Fresh 92.7 in Adelaide has revealed its new Breakfast lineup following the departure of Mark Thomas and Laura O’Callaghan (Loz & Thommo).

In their place will be current Workday host John Wilson, and Lauren ‘Davo’ Davidson, who was previously a volunteer producer on the Breakfast program, but has most recently been hosting a Breakfast program in Port Augusta on Magic 105.9.

Wilson said he had been working towards this opportunity since joining the station over five years ago.

“One thing I’m 100% sure of is that Adelaide will not have a harder working Brekky duo,” he said.

And he was full of praise for his new co-host.

“Her infectious laugh and her ability to immediately call me out on my crap is amazing. I think Adelaide are going to fall in love with her and I’ll have to settle for being the weird family friend that the popular kid gets forced to hang out with.”

Davidson said the job was a dream come true.

“I have never felt more confident behind a mic than at Fresh with Johnny behind the panel,” she added.

The station’s content director, Zane Dean. said the duo is the perfect choice to continue the legacy of Fresh’s Breakfast show.

“We searched all over Australia for our next Brekky team, but ultimately the answer was right under our nose,” he said. “Johnny and Davo are real, they have a great sense of humour together, and they’ve blown me away with the work they’ve already put into this. They get Fresh, they get Adelaide, and they’re going to take this show to some incredible places.”

With Wilson being promoted to Breakfast, Fresh volunteer Jake Tracey will step into Fresh’s Workday shift.

The new Breakfast program starts at 7am on Tuesday, April 6, after the Easter break.

Current Breakfast hosts Thomas and O’Callaghan are yet to reveal their next move.
