Craig Bruce launches new life after radio Game Changers series

Game Changers: Radio continues to prove why it’s the #1 podcast for people in the radio industry, with a new sub-series called ‘I’m out. Now what?’

Helmed by Craig Bruce and produced by Jay Mueller, Game Changers has now pivoted in response to recent industry-wide redundancies amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“Over the next couple of months I’m going to talk to really talented ex-radio people who now have careers outside of radio,” Bruce explains.

“Everything feels so tenuous, and what happened the other week with a bunch of regional Breakfast shows being axed, unfortunately is likely to happen again.

“The question is, ‘What should you do?’ How do you prepare yourself… how will you be ready for that? Hopefully this podcast will show you there is a full and really interesting life outside of radio.”

His first guest for the new series is Tanya Hennessy, who revealed that she felt recent news of regional redundancies deeply, having cut her teeth in regional radio.

“I did regional for six years, and every day you’re told “it’s about local, it’s about local”… so you embed yourself in that community,” she says.

“So much so that my books and comedy shows sell-out in the three regional markets I used to work in!

“I had more emus than content directors in Griffith,” she laughs.
