97.3FM welcomes news journalist Georgina Lewis to its team as a news presenter this week.

Lewis joins in a guest capacity, and will present the news on the Drive shift from September 14 through to September 21.

She is best known for her work over the past 21 years at Brisbane’s 10 News First, starting out as a reporter and weather presenter before becoming the voice of Brisbane news, presenting the news bulletin for man years

Over her career she has covered the horrific murders of Hannah Clarke and her children, the trial of Gerard Baden-Clay, the Daniel Morcombe case, the 2011 floods, all the major cyclones – Larry, Yasi and Debbie, the Japanese Tsunami, and the funeral of slain police officer Senior Constable Brett Forte.

“News has been my passion for the past 25 years. I’m excited to join the Drive team at 97.3FM and continue delivering the top stories of the day to the people of Brisbane,” Lewis said.

“It’s a great opportunity for me learn new skills, and the best part is I won’t have to spend an hour in hair and makeup!”

After her guest week, Lewis will remain an ongoing guest, filling in on 97.3FM from time to time.

“Georgina is much loved by Brisbane and I am delighted to welcome her to the team as a news presenter at 97.3FM,” ARN’s national news director Deborah Clay said.

“With credibility at the foundation of our news service, Georgie will bring her signature professionalism, poise and ability to connect with an audience, while delivering the news as it breaks.”
