Hot Tomato is still the king of the Gold Coast when it comes to GfK’s radio ratings, with Survey #3 of 2018 confirming the independent station’s status as top dog overall.

After rising back to the top of the tree in the second survey of the year, 102.9 Hot Tomato remain on top with a 15.3% share of listening (-0.3), holding a lead over SCA’s Gold FM overall among People 10+.

Gold had an excellent book, surging to a 14.1% share (+2.2), also having a great result on Breakfast with AJ, Bridge and Spida rising to first place with a 14.8% share (+3.0).

AJ, Bridge and Spida are the third different show to hold the mantle this year, after Sea FM and Hot Tomato claimed the Brekky win in the region’s first two books of the year.

Sea FM have fallen to third on Breakfast and overall among FM stations, but triple j continues to rise in the region after a strong Survey #2, and now rates 9.5% (+0.1) among People 10+.

Breakfast duo Ben and Liam are up to a double-digit share on 10% (+0.8).

On Drive, Gold FM’s The Rush Hour also rose impressively to 14.8% (+2.5), despite SCA announcing that the show will not return in 2019 in favour of the nationally syndicated Kennedy Molloy.

Hot Tomato’s Galey, Mal and Moyra remain uncontested in top spot for the Drive home, with a 17.8% share (-0.4).

On AM, ABC 91.7 is the highest rating station with a 3.9% share (-0.7), and Macquarie Sports Radio is now rating an asterisk (*).
