Greg Burns heads back to the UK for Hits Radio

Former Assistant Editor

Greg Burns is returning home to the UK, having taken up an offer to host a new weekend show on Bauer’s Hits Radio.

Burns, who had formerly worked at Capital, Virgin and Heart, moved to Sydney with the Nova Network in 2016.

He had been hosting a syndicated Mornings show across the Nova Network, but in June last year NOVA Entertainment confirmed that Brisbane and Adelaide had returned to local programming.

Burns was quietly replaced on Nova in Sydney and Melbourne at some stage afterwards, with no official announcement of his departure.

Radio Today UK reports that he hosted the first episode of his new show on Sunday from Australia, and will continue to broadcast from Aus for the next few weeks before making the back to the UK.

The Hits Radio Throwback will air every Sunday from 7pm – 10pm.

“After three years here in Oz, I’m so excited to be getting back on air across the UK and joining Hits Radio’s great weekend line up,” Greg told Radio Today UK.

“I’ve got some amazing tracks lined up ready to play and I know Sunday evenings across the UK are about to become a real must listen moment!”

“Greg is one of the world’s hottest music presenters, the vibe and humour he can bring to a radio show is electric,” Hits Radio PD Paul Gerard said.

“I can’t wait to hear him playing an incredible playlist of throwbacks every Sunday night, wrapping up the new-look Hits Radio Weekend in style!”
