Former triple j presenter to host new Guardian Australia podcast
Guardian Australia has launched a new podcast that promises to examine the stories behind the headlines.
To be released every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, Full Story will cover current events, topical issues and Guardian exclusives.
Much like the NY Times‘ runaway hit The Daily, each episode will explore one story to find out where it started, what happened and what it means.
Guardian Australia editor Lenore Taylor believes Full Story will offer audiences something new in the podcasting space.
“With this podcast, our readers can hear our stories told through the voices of our journalists and the people they talk to,” said Taylor.
“They can hear the stories behind the stories, why things happened, how we uncovered information and what we encountered along the way.”
Full Story is hosted by 2018 Walkley-winning journalist Laura Murphy-Oates. The former presenter on triple j’s Hack says she’s looking forward to sharing some powerful stories.
“As a reporter, I’ve looked to the Guardian for their trustworthy reporting on Indigenous affairs, immigration, politics and international news for many years.
“The powerful stories we’ve already pulled together for the launch are really a testament to that, and I can’t wait for people to hear what we’ve been working on.”
