Guy Dobson resigns from Southern Cross Austereo
Southern Cross Austereo‘s chief creative officer Guy Dobson has resigned from the radio network.
Dobson departs SCA effective immediately, calling time on over a decade spent with the company.
“I’m calling time on the SCA phase of my career,” said Dobson in a statement. “It’s a wonderful company with an amazing leadership team, great radio people and is set up well for a big year ahead.
“After ten years in some high-level roles, I feel it’s time to move on and chased own other adventures and opportunities.
“To everyone who’s helped shaped my career at SCA I thank you wholeheartedly. You’ll all get a mention in my game changers podcast later in 2019! Vaya con Dios amigos.”
Dobson was the group program director at Austereo from 2005 to 2009, before being promoted to CEO, a role he held until 2015.
He has also served as the chief creative officer following the company’s acquisition by Southern Cross Media, leading creative content development, programming and brand integration functions, while remaining a member of the company’s executive, management and leadership teams.
“Guy has had a long and illustrious career at SCA starting in radio as an announcer and working in a number of key leadership roles,” said SCA CEO Grant Blackley.
“He leaves SCA in a strong position for future growth and we thank him for his enormous contribution and the development and growth of our Triple M and Hit Networks.”
