Hamish Blake dropped by new Triple M Drive team Kennedy Molloy with a few tips

Former Assistant Editor

Hamish Blake stopped by Triple M last week to have a chat with new Drive team Jane Kennedy and Mick Molloy, and to offer some tips.

Following a short trial in Melbourne-only at the back end of 2017, Kennedy Molloy went national as Triple M’s new Drive team last week.

Blake, who with Andy Lee formed one of FM’s most successful ever Drive shows, brought in some genuinely hilarious “tips” for segments.

He arrived with a stack of “segment gift ideas” during which he also suggested was “more work than I ever did for my own show.”

Suggestions included ‘Jane-uary’ where they pick the listener who has been the ‘most Jane’ over the month, and they get to go to lunch “in a situation that will not be weird at all.”

Another suggestion was ‘Mic Check’ where listeners can tell Mick what they have and haven’t liked on his social media “to help him refine his Instagram game.”

From there on, the ideas started to get a bit ridiculous (who would have predicted), with ‘Mikey-Bikey Janey-Traney’ where Mick has to ride a bike to work and Jane catches the train, for an entire month.

“That’s not gonna happen,” laughed Jane, before Hamish interjected again “Mick is not allowed to hire a rickshaw.”

If Kennedy Molloy can even pull off some of these classic Hamish and Andy-style ideas this year they’ll be doing well, with the former 2Day Drive duo having set the benchmark for the slot for such a long stint.
