Hit92.9 puts $10K towards a couple’s IVF journey

Former Assistant Editor

Perth’s Hit92.9 has pledged to back a local couple’s IVF journey with $10,000.

Heidi, Xavier & Ryan made the announcement on Breakfast this morning, with Ryan revealing its a cause close to his heart.

Ryan teared up, revealing that he and long-term partner Brigitte have been trying to get pregnant for some time.

“I’m struggling with this chat to be honest,” he said. “It hits home because Brigitte, we haven’t found out there’s anything wrong with either of us, but she often says, ‘I feel like I’m less of a woman because I can’t produce a child.”

“I can’t imagine what it would be like to hear that you can’t do it naturally. I’m really proud of us as a station that we’re doing this.”

“I’ve been trying to keep it together I guess. Sorry.”

It’s an issue close to Heidi as well, with the idea for the giveaway coming as a result of finding out that she and her husband were going to have difficulty conceiving.

Now she’s lucky enough to have become pregnant with her first child.

Ryan is a good example of how men in 2019 should act. Authentic, real and with emotional range. I’ve been through ivf and it’s not fun. Nice initiative 929.
