iHeartRadio to live stream music awards for Australian fans

Staff Writer

The fourth annual iHeartRadio Music Awards will feature an incredible cast of performers including Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, The Chainsmokers, Shawn Mendes, Thomas Rhett, Noah Cyrus, Big Sean and Bruno Mars.

Australians can watch the entire event live from the US via video stream on Monday, March 6 from 12pm AEST at iHeartRadio’s website.

For the first time, Australian music fans were able to vote for their favourite artists and help decide who takes home the coveted awards. Drake leads the 2017 nominees with 12 nominations, while The Chainsmokers received 11 nominations, including the inaugural Best New Pop Artist category.

“The biggest artists in music show up each year,” said this year’s host Ryan Seacrest. “iHeartRadio reaches hundreds of millions of people across the country every day, so this is an opportunity for the fans to have a voice in who’s the best and brightest, and the artists, in turn, to show their appreciation.”

Following his performance at the event in Los Angeles, Ed Sheeran will stage an exclusive ÷ album release party at the iHeartRadio Theatre in New York on Wednesday March 8 at 11am AEST.

In Australia, ARN’s National KIIS Network will be airing a special 3pm Pick Up on Wednesday with a live cross to the launch party.
