‘Who could even come close?’: Kyle on Jackie O’s Most Powerful title

Former Assistant Editor
ARN

Top-rating Breakfast host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has reacted to retaining her #1 position on Radio Today’s Top 10 Most Powerful Women on Australian FM Radio.

Henderson finished atop a list that included Chrissie Swan, Amanda Keller, Carrie Bickmore and many more inspirational women, doing great things in our industry.

She was informed by KIIS newsreader Brooklyn Ross that she’d topped this list on Wednesday morning

“Our very own Jackie O has topped this year’s list… how good’s that, congratulations Jack!” he said.

“Aw that’s nice… It’s very flattering,” said Henderson.

Co-host Kyle Sandilands interjected, disputing that her role on The Masked Singer “had nothing to do with her radio career.”

“You are the most influential woman on Australian radio without a doubt… who else is there? Who could even come close to you?” he said.

“There’s a lot of great females on radio!” laughed Henderson.

“You’re greater than you think you are,” Sandilands. “Congratulations once again for being the greatest of all time.”

How is Amanda more powerful than the highest rating woman in Australian radio Kelly?

Like to see a Top Ten Men list might be few surprises with all the changes recently.

Exactly Kyle. Who else is there? Such a shame Australian radio listeners have such bad taste when it comes to who they like and who appeals. Very sad state of affairs really when this is our number one choice as most ‘powerful woman’. We have no right to criticise the Americans or the Brits over who they elected really do we? Going away to drown my sorrows now….

Peter Barington, I love Jackie. But Amanda could be more powerful due to the nature of her personal brand and image in the market place. Knowledge is power she’s well educated. Having been around for longer. She is more rounded and more family friendly. The nature of CHR radio that features the type of content that K&J do, is that it has a dispensable feeling about it. Power doesn’t come from ratings numbers, even though they are likely the most important thing to die hard radio employees under 30 in ARN.
