Jane Huxley named managing director of Spotify ANZ

Staff Writer

Former Pandora MD Jane Huxley has been appointed to the position of Managing Director of Spotify Australia and New Zealand.

Commencing the role on September 1, Huxley will be partnering with all functional leads in the region, developing a strategic plan that combines Spotify’s global efforts with the essence of the local market.

She succeeds former MD Kate Vale who departed the streaming giant in May 2017 after five years and seven months in the position.

Huxley has more than 25 years experience working across a number of high-profile organisations including Microsoft, Vodafone, Fairfax and, most recently, Pandora.

She departed the troubled Pandora in March, wanting “to pursue other opportunities.” Following her exit from the company, Pandora has since ceased operations in Australia in New Zealand as of July 31 2017.

Huxley’s roles have spanned across a number of areas in the past including systems engineering, sales, marketing, channel management, CEO and Managing Director, making her the perfect fit for the position according to Stefan Blom, Spotify’s Chief Content Officer.

“For more than 25 years Jane has built a career based on innovation, media, technology and disruption, and is a respected and awarded business leader,” Blom said of Spotify’s latest recruit.

“Jane is an impressive addition to Spotify and we have every confidence in her ability to lead our very successful Australian & New Zealand business through the next phase of growth.”
