A new Drive show for Melbourne launches on JOY 94.9 today

Anastasia Kalogiannis and Warren Andrew will front a new Drive show on JOY 94.9 from today (June 22), funded by JOY Patrons Geoffrey Smith and Gary Singer.

Australia’s LGBTIQA+ independent community radio station also recently announced the launch of a new JOY Breakfast show with The Murphys, funded by philanthropists Smith and Singer.

Last week JOY CEO Ange Barry published on a heartfelt thank you to all current Drive presenters, confirming that some of the hosts will continue at JOY in other roles.

“To our wonderful volunteers who have presented drive programs for many years at JOY, I wish to thank you all…, Barry said.

“Geoffrey and Gary’s belief in supporting independent community media has enabled us to introduce a second paid team who have both volunteered with JOY for many years, boosting our consistency of sound which is critical to our survival in a rapidly evolving media space”.

Kalogiannis has been involved with JOY for at least ten years and Andrew became involved with JOY when it first started over 25 years ago.
