Another Bodge protégé, Kaleb Crowhurst, lands new radio gig

Staff Writer

A Jason ‘Bodge’ Bodger protégé at Hit 102.3 Mid North Coast has flown the nest and has landed his first full-time job in radio.

Kaleb Crowhurst kicked off his career as an intern at Hit/Triple M a little over a year ago after completing a Bachelor of Communications as CSU Bathurst.

It led to a casual role at SCA, where Bodge and Mark ‘Strawny’ Strachan took him under their wings, where he learned the ropes in operations, production and promotions.

The work has paid off with Crowhurst moving to Tamworth after landing a job at 92.9FM as production manager and announcer for the Super Radio Network.

Bodge got his start at sister-station 2TM and says he felt a certain obligation to put Crowhurst through his paces before making the big move.

“It was actually pretty sad to see him go,” Bodge tells Radio Today. “It felt like that scene in Pokemon, where Ash says goodbye to Butterfree, the first Pokemon he raised, to take his natural path!

“Kaleb has a really strong work ethic. He may be a young guy, but his attitude is ‘right’. The areas that he may struggle in, he will strengthen as he gets more ‘flying hours’ on air.”

Bodge is making a name for himself as a talent development. His master-apprentice, Bailey Corrigan, recently landed a Friday afternoons gig at 104.7 2BOB FM Manning Valley.
