Kate flies back from Italy to surprise Hughesy
Hughesy & Kate are gearing up for their Spicy Meatball Tour of the UK and Europe with some lucky listeners.
So Hughesy certainly wasn’t expecting Kate to show up mid-way through their Drive broadcast, especially when he thought she was broadcasting from Bologna as usual.
Sacha French and the team snuck Kate into the station, and her Italy set-up had to be re-created in a separate studio to Hughesy.
Then during a ‘toilet break’, she snuck in to surprise her co-host who responded with “well… that’s weird!”
“It’s an international prank!” said Kate.

This is honestly so dumb that it’s brilliant. Excellent work everybody involved!
Still cant believe SCA let her get away with this. Keepin it real and local ! Sipping Latte’s and Rose` at the Via Veneto. Sure isn’t Dandenong.
What a special moment. Imagine, two presenters in the same studio!
Their prank story arc is fun.
Gary Sizzle; unlike most other shows, H&K actively own the fact Kate is not in the studio. They talk about her coming live from Italy, use it for material and integrate it into their work.
How do u download the be in the Italy competition. I listen to you daily but still can’t figure out how to enter.
