Kate Langbroek explains her new radio character ‘Barb’

Staff Writer

Kate Langbroek appeared on Channel 10’s news program The Project last night, chatting about raising money for the Children’s Cancer Foundation.

The Hit Network Drive host was then asked by radio stablemate Carrie Bickmore about her radio character ‘Barb’.

Barb is a 58-year-old woman who is out to scam the scammers, Carrie explains to the audience.

Kate uses ‘Barb’ to entertain phone scammers who call under the pretence of seeking romance to ask for credit card information.

“How do they feel when you burn them at the end?” asks Carrie.

“I get a bit nervous, I doubled down on him and told him I’m flying to Houston to surprise him [the scammer],” responds Kate.

“Then he blocked me.”
