KIIS 106.5 newsreader Brooklyn Ross co-hosts Breakfast with Jackie O

Former Assistant Editor

Kyle Sandilands was away from the mic this morning, leaving a new Jackie O with a new, and perhaps unexpected co-host.

Usual KIIS 106.5 Breakfast newsreader Brooklyn Ross filled in for Kyle, day after Kyle and Jackie O rose even further in the second radio ratings survey of the year.

KIISFM had used ex-Wests Tigers player and media personality Beau Ryan in the past as a Brekky fill-in, but he is now hosting his own regular Breakfast show on Macquarie Sports Radio with John Stanley in Sydney and Brisbane.

On the show this morning Brooklyn and Jackie chatted about who was going to do the back-announcing.

It was decided that Brooklyn was going to give it a go, but he humorously fluffed his lines at the first attempt, announcing that listeners were tuning into ‘Kyle and Brooklyn’.

EP Bruno Bouchet also joined Jackie and Brooklyn on-air from 6:30am.

Kyle won’t be worried. News readers get nervous when the script is taken off them.

Ha. To the contrary @MW, I couldn’t be more pumped for Brooklyn. He’s a great fella – and I wish more PD’s gave newsreaders and fresh talent and a chance.
Good on you, man.

@MIchael – to your point, totally off the mark. Many of the best hosts have come through news desks. Ben Fordham, Carrie Bickmore, Jason Morrison, Mark Levy to name a very few.
And the likes of Ange Anderson, Michelle Stephenson, Kim Napier and more are constantly making the most of chances they get.

0/2 lads.
