Kyle returns to SCA to chat Homelessness Week with Heidi, Xavier & Ryan

Former Assistant Editor

Kyle Sandilands was back on air at Southern Cross Austereo this morning, making an appearance on Hit92.9 Breakfast.

The KIIS FM jock joined Heidi, Xavier and Ryan at Perth’s Hit station, where he worked previously, to chat about Homelessness Week.

One in five Western Australian teens will experience homelessness, explained Heidi, and its an issue familiar to Kyle who spent time on the street himself as a teenager.

“I had no idea what I wanted to be or what I wanted to do, I was looking around at other homeless people and the ones that were a bit older than were all selling drugs and doing break and enters to try and get by,” Kyle shared.

“A lot of people who grew up homeless or without much money, when they come into money they don’t want to waste the money cause they’re scared to back where they were,” said Ryan.

“My girlfriend is always on me, she says ‘Babe, you’re not going go back to a box,'” Kyle continued.

“You can relax. You can have a weekend off. You can sleep more than 4 hours.

“But I’m driven of a deep fear that something will happen one day and I will have to resort back to that and that’s what pushes me every day.”

Would ARN be happy that Kyle was on an SCA show?
