Linda Wayman in Hall of Fame

As part of International Womens Day, the UN Women Perth Chapter has inducted Southern Cross Austereo Perth General Manager, Linda Wayman into the WA Hall of Fame.

UN Women Perth Chapter Convenor Anne Banks-McAllister said Ms Wayman was inducted not only because of her tremendous professional success, but also because of her charity and community work.

“We are delighted that Linda has been inducted into the 2012 WA Women’s Hall of Fame, it is indeed a great honour to be one of only nine amazing women being recognised this year” she said.

“As a previous WA Telstra Business Woman of the Year, we were already very aware of Linda’s many professional achievements, however what really impressed us was her personal contribution back into the Western Australian community. Somehow Linda has managed to be the driving force behind Southern Cross Austereo Perth while also volunteering for the Salvation Army and sitting on the board of the Committee for Perth"

Ms Wayman has worked extensively on the boards of the Salvation Army Media Committee, the EventsCorp Advisory Board, the Rally Australia Board and the Football West Board in the past and continues to work with the Australian Business and Arts Foundation, the State Library of WA Foundation, and the influential think-tank Committee for Perth.

Ms Wayman said she felt lucky to be included in WA’s International Women’s Day celebrations. “It’s a great day for celebrating women and I feel very proud to be inducted into the WA Women’s Hall of Fame,” Ms Wayman said “Working to further women in the workplace has always been one of my passions and it’s an honour to be able to do so”
