Grant Broadcasters extends local Drive on K rock & bay 93.9

Grant Broadcasters continues to double down on its commitment to local content, with an announcement that it will extend local Drive shows in Geelong and on the Surf Coast.

K rock 95.5 Drive show ‘The Departure Lounge’ with Stampsy and Josh is now airing from 3pm-7pm Weekdays, with the change coming in earlier this week.

Similarly, bay 93.9 show ‘The Catch Up with Daryl, Samantha, Renee, Sarah and Roxie is now being heard from 3pm-7pm each day.

Both shows were previously on air from 4pm-6pm Weekdays.

Grant Broadcasters say the changes are about renewing the network’s focus on delivering local content and helping commuters engage with their local community on their drive home.

“As family owned and proudly local Geelong radio stations, these changes only strengthen our connection with our local audience and business partners,” K rock and bay 93.9 GM Andy Mathers said.

The changes follow a similar move at Grant Broadcasters’ Sunshine Coast stations Hot 91 and Zinc 96, with new lineups increasing local content across the whole day at both stations.

“We’re committed to localism and this just another example of us demonstrating that,” Grant Broadcasters group content director Ryan Rathbone added.

Bay 93.9 have more hosts on their drive show than the entire regional Hit Network have on their 40+ breakfast shows.

Well…. It doesn’t, if we’re being technical about it. They’re rotating co hosts that do a day a week. It’s not like 5 people are on air together daily… What a mess that would be.

Great local stations down there! K rock would easily be one of the MOST local stations in Aus. Lives and breathes Geelong.
