NOVA Entertainment has brought Mary Datoc back on board, this time as network managing editor.
The role involves overseeing the enhancement, growth and evolution of programming content for Nova 96.9 and the smooth Network.
Datoc previously worked with NOVA Entertainment as a producer for smoothfm’s Weekend program as well as acting as a guest presenter during the station’s launch.
Throughout her career, she also spent 10 years in senior roles with Channel V, including head of talent and artist relations, head of programming, and head of 0n-air promo and creative services. She also consulted for MTV in Seoul to localise its international programming content for Asian markets, had a stint with M&C Saatchi and was integral in the launch of the Italian Food and Wine Festival.
She will report to NOVA Entertainment’s head of programming, Peter Clay, something which she noted was like coming full circle.
“I’m enjoying a warm welcome from the Nova and smooth teams, and after many years away it’s like coming home. I started my radio journey with Peter Clay, joined the smooth team for the early years and have gone full circle to now,” she said.
“After spending years in music television in Australia and Asia, a stint in events and advertising, returning to radio is exciting.
“Nova and smooth are such loved stations. I’m so proud to be part of the special team behind it all.”
Clay said NOVA Entertainment always wants to surround itself with the best people in the industry.
“I couldn’t be happier to have Mary rejoin the team in a role that will assist me across both brands and play a major part in all programming decisions moving toward,” he added.
