Melissa Doyle launches Age Against The Machine podcast via Audible

Staff Writer

Smoothfm Weekend Breakfast host and Sunrise and Sunday Night alumni, Melissa Doyle, has launched an Audible Original Podcast, Age Against The Machine.

The podcast came about as Doyle faced turning 50 and found herself wanting guidance on how to approach life’s second act.

The seven-episode series costs $19.95 for non-members, however is ‘free’ for those who pay $16.45 per month to be an Audible member.

The podcast will speak to women from different cultures to understand how ageing is perceived and handled around the world, and will cover topics including menopause, sex, political representation and financial security.

“We spoke to tribal queens in Africa, Maori elders, a 62-year-old Finnish skateboarder, and awesome women in Australia – Marcia Hines, Rachel Griffiths, Betty Klimenko and Julia Morris to name a few,” Doyle said. “We went rollerskating and life dancing, discussed homelessness, the wage gap, sex and dating. It’s fun, eye-opening and important.”

Doyle and Naima Brown have also launched an online content hub, Elli, to keep the conversation going beyond the podcast.

Another former Sunrise presenter, Samantha Armytage, also recently launched her own podcastSomething To Talk About With Samantha Armytage is out now via News Corp.
