Mix 102.3 releases teaser ahead of new Breakfast show announcement

Former Editor & Content Director

Mix 102.3 is counting down to the big reveal of its new Breakfast show.

The 39-second audio teaser has a clock ticking in the background, and says the station will offer up a “fresh way to wake up in 2021”.

“Soda is back,” it says, confirming what we already know, “with a new co-host”.

It says listeners will “find out soon” who will be joining Mark ‘Soda’ Soderstrom, and the new show kicks off in January.

Long-time co-host Jodie Oddy left last month abruptly with little explanation.

There has been mounting speculation as to who will replace her, however as yet no official word.

On Tuesday after the final ratings release, Australian Radio Network’s (ARN) chief content officer Duncan Campbell said the new lineup would be “announced later on this week”.

He said he’s “very confident” in the new show.

“I have no concerns about the station, in fact I’m very upbeat about what’s going to be on offer next year and our ratings next year as well,” he added. “There’s work going on behind the scenes at the moment and an announcement later on this week.”

Did hear something funny the other day

Those at Mix are hoping it’s not Soda and Erin.

The competition is hoping it is Soda and Erin.
