Darwin’s Mix 104.9 ‘reshaping’ Breakfast show
Grant Broadcasters’ Mix 104.9 has revealed it is “reshaping” its Breakfast show.
To assist with the transformation, it is seeking an announcer with at least three years of on-air experience.
“This is a rare opportunity to be part of a ratings winning show, currently Darwin’s #1 35+ and we expect you to grow that audience with a survey this year,” Grant Broadcasters said.
The show was previously helmed by Ali Burton and Greg Vincent.
Vincent stepped down at the end of last year.
Burton has been absent from the airwaves recently, however remains a part of the program. Grant Broadcasters told Radio Today she was on personal leave and they were unsure when she would return.
Radio Today understands numerous candidates were previously offered the role to replace Vincent, however each fell through for various reasons, including the remoteness of Darwin. The new job ad, spruiking the opportunity to be part of Mix 104.9’s “exciting new offering” in an “amazing location with a winning team” is an attempt to attract more suitable candidates to the role.
Applicants can send their CV, a recent aircheck and cover letter to Ryan Rathbone, Grant Broadcasters’ group content director.

What management forget is that we do our own reference checks the same as they do.
Speak to any former(or current) employee and you’ll quickly find out why this place is being avoided.
Where do we email?
It’s way too expensive to live in Darwin on the wage they’re offering. I’ve also heard from ex staff that management is terrible.
It’s one of the duopolies forgotten about by grants coz it’s so far away from anything else…
All I can say is, call current and past employees before signing.
I’m enjoying the breakfast show with Andrew leave it the way it is. Would be great to have Greg and Andrew together, miss Greg he was funny.
