Mix FM Sunshine Coast’s Caroline Hutchinson chats about her 20-year radio run

Staff Writer

Marking her 20th anniversary as a breakfast radio co-host on Mix FM 92.7, Caroline Hutchison features on the latest episode of John Caruso‘s Conversations IN Noosa.

Caroline chats about her huge 20-year record on radio, her brief foray into politics, when she ran as an independent candidate in the federal seat of Fisher against Peter Slipper and why she’d never do it again.

“I’ve said this so many times publicly, I’m sure he [Slipper] hates my guts already, he was a very poorly performing local member and he wasn’t available to the people of the Sunshine Coast,” said Caroline.

The legacy presenter also shared what’s kept her in the breakfast role all these years.

“Speaking honestly, I like my day is finished by lunchtime,” laughed Caroline.

“I like that breakfast radio is your own business, no one really tells me what to do and they never really have.”

To the person commenting as “Precious Princess”. I can tell you that Caroline is far from that. I have had the privilege of working with Caroline at Mix FM since 2013 and from Day 1 I have found her to be amazing, always there to lend a helping hand, always asking about the family, and always looking to help out the community and others in the Station if they are suffering any issues. She is an extremely hard worker for the station and the Sunshine Coast community, and a tireless supporter of many organisations and community events on the Coast. Not to mention all the money Caroline, Mark and Mix FM have raised over the years for sick children and their families. There is ZERO ego involved when it comes to Caroline. She is an amazing woman and the industry needs more people like her in it. Thanks for everything you’ve done for me over the years Caroline – and to “Precious Princess” don’t judge someone until you get to know them, because I can tell you, your judgement of Caroline in this case is way off.
