Mix94.5 offers Perth’s biggest ever cash prize
Mix94.5’s The Big Breakfast is broadcasting from a yacht this morning to get in the millionaire frame of mind.
The broadcast, which will see a performance from Eskimo Joe, comes after Triple M boss Mike Fitzpatrick made a revelation yesterday.
“I felt that perhaps $1 million dollars just wasn’t quite enough as a potential prize for one of your amazing listeners,” he told the #1 rating Clairsy, Matt & Kymba.
“And so I felt you needed something that was befitting a show of your stature.
“I’m prepared to offer you the chance to give one Perth resident the opportunity to win $2 million dollars… and if I am not incorrect, it is the biggest prize ever offered on Perth radio.”
The team is joined on the yacht by Perth personalities Dennis Cometti and Scott Pape.

Another insured contest resulting in no likely winner. These games of chance are getting a bit ridiculous…$50k for a promotion was considered big. Imagine if it was $2m in guaranteed cash being given away by station? Then again, I’d rather that money be invested in a proper local drive show.
If you look at the last 3-4 years, Mix has lost a couple of great people every year and the volatility of the ratings is reflective of that. It is no longer the unbeatable powerhouse it once was. With the corporate disaster that is 96fm, Mix ratings should have gone higher.
