Podshape partners with TAFE Queensland for branded podcast

Staff Writer

Jay Walkerden’s podcast company Podshape has been employed by TAFE Queensland for its branded audio offering, My Study Journey

The six-part podcast will follow the stories of six overseas students who have moved to the state to “follow their dreams and pursue their passions in search of their best life”.

One featured student is Elin from Sweden who broke her back in her quest to become the world champion in equestrian vaulting – that’s gymnastics on horseback. The podcast will follow her story from being told she’ll never walk again to studying at TAFE Queensland.

Another episode will chart the story of Jerry from Papua New Guinea who had never been overseas or stepped on a plane before travelling to Cairns to study a diploma of hospitality at TAFE Queensland.

Marty Lock, international student engagement officer at TAFE Queensland, noted the power of audio in reaching new audiences.

“TAFE Queensland International engage with many students from around the world and sometimes we need to understand why they choose Australia and/or their study here with TAFE Queensland. Working with Podshape opened up a new channel opportunity for us to share the insights of why students choose to study abroad. Through podcasting we are able to reach out to new audiences and share the amazing journeys our students have while studying with us,” he said.

“The knowledge, understanding and engagement that Podshape provided, gave me confidence in meeting our objective with our students.”
