It’s actually the first survey as MMM.

Newcastle radio needs a good shake up. It’s so not a competitive market anymore. Quite sad really for a market that size. If someone bought New Fm and took on SCA I think it would be a very different landscape.

The hit! cookie cutter not the right cut for this market just like the Gold Coast. Maybe a few more operation managers in Sydney will fix this.

NewFM is almost at the point it should just be turned off. Such a shame a once massively dominant station is in such bad shape. If you’re out of programming ideas, just tune into Sydney and copy one that rates! It’s free!

Wow, New Fm now 7th in the Breakfast ratings even behind 2rn.
That’s a disastrous survey result. I thought when Steve St John stepped aside they might get a better crew but those kids they have doing breakfast are woeful.

Hit network is not working anywhere. Almost got beaten by Triple J. Only hit station going good is FOX and that because of heritage.

TRIPLE J win 18-24’s and 25-39’s what a great win Number One 18-39’s in Newcastle might be a sign of things to come in other markets. A reflection of listeners dissatisfaction with the direction of the Hit Network. Vanilla breakfast shows, adult contemporary music and lame contents that were tired 10-20 years ago.

If New wanted to be competitive and get back in the race they would take on Hot Tomato’s strategy and start poaching talent from SCA Newcastle.

It’s easy to beat up on new fm and it is deserved, but how about that under performing Hit breaky show. Great on socials and parody songs but just doesn’t connect with Newcastle. So out of touch with what the listeners want in that market. So many talented announcers in their talent banks at sca but they keep supporting this team and it just doesn’t make sense.

New FM need to hit reset on the breakfast team.
