Newcastle Survey 1 released

Staff Writer

The first survey for Newcastle has been released today. See the complete results here.

There has been little movement overall for the Southern Cross Austereo stations: NXFM has retained the leading position on 18.9% (up 0.4) and KOFM has declined slightly to 17.6 (down 0.5)).

However, the SCA stations have won every demographic (aside from 65+) and are ranked number 1 and 2 in every daypart, in what has been a very strong result for new Program Director Todd Campbell.

The Broadcast Operations Group have had a mixed day. New FM has increased to  8.8% (up 1.1), however 2HD has declined significantly to 9.4% (down 2.7). Both of their brands in Newcastle now are below 10% overall share and well behind the SCA stations in what is likely to be of significant concern.

The ABC have also had mixed fortunes with Triple J improving to take third position overall, and ABC Local Radio declining by nearly 3%, and ranking fourth overall.

See the media release for New FM/2HD here and the KOFM/NXFM release below.
