Newstalk ZB announces weekend lineup changes

Former Assistant Editor

New Zealand’s Newstalk ZB and Radio Sport have just announced changes for their weekend lineup, with the new shows to kick off from Saturday May 12.

Veteran sports broadcaster Martin Devlin will move away from his weekday slot for a new three-hour show on Saturdays and Sundays.

“I’ve been waiting for this opportunity for a long time. I can’t wait to get started,” said Devlin.

The show will air across Newstalk ZB and Radio Sport, and promises to deliver the best interviews, the sharpest analysis and unbridled opinion.

“Martin Devlin has one of the best sports brains in New Zealand,” said NZME head of talk Jason Winstanley.

“He does it differently to everyone else. He’s unique. We are thrilled.”

“Part of Marty’s new gig will include a speciality motoring segment called DRIVEN. With almost 3.9 million cars on New Zealand roads, it is a seriously hot topic.

“We are proud to be working closely with NZME’s DRIVEN team to deliver premium motoring content for all Kiwis.”

Newstalk ZB’s Weekend Afternoons will also see a new lifetyle offering, hosted by Tim Roxborogh, covering topics from politics, wellness, parenting, finance and property.

Devlin’s replacement for Radio Sport Mornings is yet to be announced.
