Nova 106.9 Brisbane has been revealed as the official partner of the upcoming Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.

The station has secured a unique radio sub-licence which secures them exclusive rights to broadcast any of the 2018 games locally.

Nova 106.9’s Breakfast team Ash, Kip and Luttsy (with Susie O’Neill) are also set to broadcast live from the Games, a role which Susie will undoubtedly take in her stride as Australia’s record Olympic and Commonwealth Games medalist.

The opening day of the games will be a special one for the station, with Greg Burns‘ morning show and Katie Mattin‘s afternoon show also set to be broadcast live from the Games.

“We are delighted to be partnering with the Seven Network to bring the passion and joy of one of the greatest sporting events on the planet to our listeners,” said Nova GM Jay Walkerden.

“Particularly for those who weren’t lucky enough to secure tickets, our team are looking forward to sharing the excitement of the Games on air.

“It’s also a win for local businesses who want to capitalise on the biggest show in town and get their message aligned on the Nova airwaves.”

“The Gold Coast Commonwealth Games are set to become a wonderful
experience for every Australian, no matter where, when or how they access the event,” added Seven West Media chief revenue officer and director of Commonwealth Games Kurt Burnette.

“In announcing this strategic partnership with Nova Brisbane we are guaranteeing even more access for our audience, meaning that no one will ever miss a moment of competition.”

This is very stupid, I thought you would have to be a local Gold Coast radio station to get this gig like 90.9 Sea FM or 92.5 Gold FM, I mean seriously why a Brisbane radio station>?\??
