Nova 106.9 launches domestic violence audio campaign

Nova Brisbane has lent its voice to the national conversation about domestic violence with a new audio campaign.

Following the recent, tragic murders of Brisbane mother Hannah Clarke and her three children, Nova 106.9 wanted to shine the spotlight on the issue that too often goes unspoken about.

To amplify the conversation, Nova has launched an audio campaign, developed by the Nova Brisbane creative team in consultation with the appropriate authorities, voiced by Nova 106.9 staff and their kids, and backed by the Queensland Government and Queensland Police.

A 15-second spot is now playing across every ad break on Nova Brisbane to share a message of support and increase awareness on the serious issue.

“Everyone was feeling pretty helpless here, after the shocking death of Hannah and her children and it was hard to know how to help,” said Nova 106.9 brands & promotions director, Dee Curtis.

“Our team went through a range of ideas but kept coming back to using our voice to talk about domestic violence which may happen out of sight, but needs to be a part of everybody’s conversation.

“Our Nova Brisbane creative team, led by Nathan Russell, developed the campaign in consultation with the authorities.

NOVA Entertainment backed us all the way and offered to utilise every ad break to share this message.

Nova says the campaign will continue on high-rotation across Nova 106.9 ad breaks in Breakfast, ATD, Drive and Nights.

“We know there is so much to do in this space to support families facing domestic violence, but we hope by using our airtime to play this message, we can generate awareness and kick-start conversations around this complicated issue,” said Curtis.
