PodcastOne renews Christopher Pyne’s podcast, Pyne Time

Staff Writer

Former Federal Defence Minister Christopher Pyne will be back in the audiosphere in January, with his podcast Pyne Time being renewed by SCA’s PodcastOne Australia.

Pyne Time launched in October last year with Pyne’s “unlikely friend”, co-host of The Project and comedian, Peter Helliar, serving as the first guest. From there, Pyne chatted to politicians, journalists, business leaders, and current and former Prime Ministers.

PodcastOne said Pyne will continue to use “his humour and unique charm” to corral guests into opening up.

“Christopher has a very unique approach to his interviews that always has his guests revealing more than they would like,” SCA’s head of podcasting for PodcastOne, Grant Tothill, added. “It’s the ‘Pyne effect’ that makes Pyne Time such a fascinating listen.”

Guests on season two will include Leader of the Opposition Anthony Albanese, NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian, and journalist Julia Baird.

Pyne said he was looking forward to round two.

“I’m going to cast a spell over my super interesting guests and get them to reveal a little of themselves that no one knew before. Just like the first season. It’s just the thing to liven up your summer. So listen out for Pyne Time – it’s coming soon,” he said.

Pyne previously had a long-running relationship with ABC when he was a frontbencher, before defecting to FIVEaa.
