Radio Ratings: Hit103.5 remains #1 in Cairns

Hit103.5 remains the dominant commercial station in Cairns, with the release of the region’s latest ratings figures.

Hit finished the latest survey as the station listened to most in People 10+ with 22.8% (+0.6), while its nearest competitor, Grant Broadcasters-owned Star 102.7, rose impressively to 19.7% (+5.3).

The competition for Breakfast was tighter, but Hit103.5’s Shad and Carly also emerged on top, though Star Brekky duo Dave and Inkie saw an upturn matching the overall result.

Xtra Insights conducted the survey between July 30 and August 18, with a sample size of 1,200.

As with Xtra Insights other regional surveys, the results do not produce a traditional share figure, but rather on the stations most listened to.

“Regional radio serves a vital role in the community and having up to date data on their listeners will help radio stations to shape their programming and attract local and national advertisers,” said Commercial Rado Australia CEO Joan Warner.

The latest Cairns survey is the latest in the region since June of 2017.

This is also the 71st regional survey to be released under the CATI methodology, and Queensland markets of Toowoomba and Bundaberg will be released next month.
