The latest ratings for the Queensland market of Toowoomba have been released today, with Hit100.7 Darling Downs leading the way.

Hit was the station listened to most among People 10+, despite falling to a 26.5% (-4.5), ahead of SCA stablemates Triple M Darling Downs on 11.3% (+2.1). ABC Southern QLD was the top AM station with 14.1% (-0.2).

New Hit Breakfast duo Hamish and Paris remained in the #1 spot in 5:30am-9:00am slot, following the recent departure of Gabi Elgood to Hit Townsville.

“This is the first survey since we rebranded to Hit and triple M with over 100,000 people tuning into SCA stations across Toowoomba each week we continue to dominate,” said SCA Toowoomba GM Zac Nanscawen.

“Today’s result is a testament to the ongoing commitment and dedication from our on-air teams, staff and key stakeholders.”

As with Xtra Insights other regional surveys, the results do not produce a traditional share figure, but rather on the stations most listened to.

Toowoomba is in the Darling Downs region and includes the town of Warwick and the University of Southern Queensland. The commercial radio stations in Toowoomba serve a population of more than 203,000 people aged 10+.

The survey is only the second in the region since the year 2000, first since 2016, and included 1200 respondents.

“It’s great to see more regular and consistent radio surveys taking place outside the major metropolitan areas because it demonstrates just how important radio services are to people right across regional Australia,” said Commercial Radio Australia CEO Joan Warner.

It is the 72nd regional survey to be released under the CATI methodology, with the next regional survey to be released to focus on Bundaberg.
