Entries open for the inaugural Radio Today Podcast Awards with LiSTNR

Radio Today has launched the Radio Today Podcast Awards with LiSTNR to recognise and reward the incredible work being done in the sector.

The awards will showcase the most innovative individuals and organisations in podcasting from across the Australian media and marketing landscape in categories including Podcast Host or Presenter of the Year, Podcast Executive Producer of the Year, Advertising Agency of the Year, Podcast Marketer of the Year, Radio Show Podcast of the Year and Podcast Company of the Year.

Entries are open from today, but early entry discounts won’t last long. From now until 11:59pm (AEST) on Sunday, May 16, it costs just $99 (+ GST) per entry. Late entries will be $169 (+ GST) and will close at 11:59pm (AEST) on Sunday, July 4.

A panel of superstar judges will be revealed in the coming weeks, ahead of the finalists’ announcement on Monday, July 26.

Winners across all categories will be announced on Monday, August 2.

All entrants will also get access to an exclusive roundtable event featuring some of Australia’s top Podcasting Power Players.

In addition, to reflect the podcasting industry’s growing influence and appetite for information, from Monday next week the fortnightly Podcasting Today newsletter will become weekly.

Radio Today editor, Vivienne Kelly, said the launch of the awards initiative was a milestone for both Radio Today and the wider podcasting sector.

“I’m constantly joking with podcast executives, hosts and wannabes about whether or not the industry has reached ‘Peak Podcast’, but there’s simply no way we can say we’ve peaked until there’s a dedicated industry awards initiative,” she said.

“It’s also often cliche and cringeworthy when a press release comes through saying an organisation and its leaders are ‘thrilled’ to launch something new and ‘excited’ for the future, but we really are ever-so-pleased and filled with anticipation about where the podcasting sector is heading, how we can support it, and what kinds of amazing individuals, organisations and podcast titles are going to be awarded at the inaugural Radio Today Podcast Awards with LiSTNR.”
