Former Tribe and Huff Post exec Sammy Major is the latest hire at podcast company Ranieri & Co.

Ranieri & Co. represent Wondery Media in Australian and New Zealand, and Major will join the company as head of commercial and partnerships in October.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Ranieri & Co as a co-owner and the Head of Commercial and Partnerships,” Major said.

“To represent such a reputable podcasting heavy-weight like Wondery in the Australian market and assist brands in developing effective and engaging branded content, is an absolute privilege.”

Sammy Major was previously the head of sales at Tribe, and commercial director at Huff Post.

She has spent ten years working in digital media.

Wondery is the world’s largest independent podcast publisher.

“Podcasting in Australia has gained a lot of momentum over the last few years but is still very underutilized by our brands,” she added.

“I’m very eager to help educate the market about best practices in the space and help deliver engaging branded content experiences.”

Ranieri & Co co-founder Nick Randall said he is “thrilled” to add Major to the company.

“The podcasting industry is such an electric place to be right at this moment with the continued surge in listenership aligning perfectly with marketers desire to reach highly attentive audiences at scale,” he said.

Fellow co-founder Rob Ranieri added that the hire made “perfect sense” due to Major’s expertise “commercialising a range of impressive internationals.”
