Richard Bean: New ACMA Acting Chairman

The Australian Communications and Media Authority’s Deputy Chairman, Richard Bean, will take on the role of Acting Chairman for the regulatory body from Saturday.

Minister for Communications, Mitch Fifield announced the changes following the retirement of Chris Chapman, who served as ACMA chair for 10 years.

“I am delighted to be leading an agency at the top of its game and want to thank Chris for his 10 years of outstanding leadership”,said Richard Bean

“The ACMA is committed to acting in the public interest while remaining at the forefront of regulatory thought and practice in adapting to rapid change in almost all areas of responsibilities”, he said.

Richard Bean joined the ACMA in October 2010 for five years and was reappointed for a further two years in October 2015.  James Cameron will become ACMA Acting Deputy Chair.
