Jase & PJ leak summer breakfast lineup

It appears KIIS Melbourne’s Breakfast hosts Jase Hawkins and Polly ‘PJ’ Harding have jumped the gun and revealed who will be filling in for them over summer.

On the Jase & PJ show earlier this week, the duo interviewed Channel 9 personality Lauren Phillips.

“We’re going to be taking a couple of weeks off, Peej… and so we need someone to fill in for us, and this lovely lady has kindly put up her hand to help out. We know and love her from Channel 9’s Today show. She does the weekend weather. I know she is busting to get on the air and reveal everything she’s got planned for the summer breakfast show – the lovely Lauren Phillips,” Hawkins said before the interview.

In the chat, Phillips revealed she would be joined on KIIS over summer by Ryan Jon.

Jon previously hosted Hit 92.9 Breakfast in Perth, but quit to spend more time with his fiancé.

“I’m really looking forward to it.. Doing radio’s going to be a lot of fun. I’m doing it with Ryan Jon, who, we actually don’t know each other very well, so we’ve been like phone dating for the last few months to get to know each other,” she said.

Jon has posted to social media, acting shocked and confused by the news.

And it appears KIIS’ owner ARN is not yet ready to comment.

ARN was contacted on Thursday, however is unable to provide comment or confirmation until next week.

It is unclear if the Phillips and Jon summer show will be heard in just Melbourne, or more widely.

Phillips, however, said she’d be playing it safe as she has “big shoes to fill”.

“I’m very much on my L plates, and I’ll be doing whatever I’m told,” she said on Jase & PJ. 

“I’ll be honest, we don’t know what we’re doing on our show tomorrow, so do not stress,” Hawkins joked.
