SBS PopAsia tops 1Mil Likes

SBS PopAsia, is online, mobile and digital radio and is the first new generation of media brands to reach one million likes on Facebook.

PopAsia is the youth and Asian pop-culture focused digital radio station from SBS and they hit the milestone this week, becoming the first Australian radio station to reach one million likes on Facebook.

Station Manager Alex Lazenby said: ”SBS PopAsia was built with social media at the heart of it.  We’ve seen huge growth in the past 12 months with more fans than ever before wanting to engage with Asian pop culture, particularly in the wake of tours in 2015 by some of Asian pop’s biggest stars,  including Big Bang, BTS and Beast.  As a result we have seen many more Australians introduced to and connecting with the Asian pop scene  and we now have a brand that’s recognised and followed across the globe, helping open doors to more exclusive content for Asian pop loving Australian fans.”

The only station that we could find close 1 mil was triple j, who are 50k or so away from toping 1 million likes on Facebook. All that said, radio talent pages like Hamish & Andy and Kyle & Jackie O are way past the million barrier but no actual radio station brand in the country has cracked it yet besides SBS PopAsia that we could fine.
