SCA exec leaves radio

Staff Writer

Southern Cross Austereo's Director of Sales in Adelaide Katie Bridges is leaving radio to become CEO of children's charity the 'Little Heroes Foundation'.

The foundation was set up to assist children with cancer and other serious illnesses, and recently contributed $2 million to the Adelaide Women's and Children's Hospital.

Speaking to the Adelaide Advertiser, Little Heroes Foundation Chairman Chris McDermott said that Bridges was on his radar for some time when looking for a CEO:

"It's a great day for us…….it will allow me to concentrate on our services, and Katie to drive the business" he commented.

Bridges is not the only former radio executive now involved in the charity sector.

Former Austereo Perth Program Director Steve Mummery heads up the massive Perth Telethon event, whilst former Austereo and DMG promotions executive Donna Rendell is the CEO at Breast Cancer Care WA.

And this morning Radio Today profiled former production gun Linc Kelly (read here) and the work he is doing for children impacted by cancer and mental illness in regional areas.
