SCA launches new digital station SoundCloud Radio

Southern Cross Austereo is targeting “young, highly engaged and influential” audiences with the launch of new digital radio station SoundCloud Radio.

As part of its ongoing partnership with SoundCloud, SCA’s latest station will launch on August 24 on DAB+ digital and on live streaming radio.

It will be SCA’s first station dedicated to new music discovery, drawing from the world’s largest community of audio and music creators on the SoundCloud streaming platform.

SCA chief executive officer Grant Blackley said this latest station will “further enhance SCA’s ability to provide advertisers with improving an extraordinary reach on DAB+ and through live digital streaming.

“The SoundCloud audience is young, highly engaged and influential, and they are searching for new and emerging artists – which Soundcloud Radiowill expertly deliver.

“SoundCloud has led the world when it comes to supporting creators of new music and enabling the discovery of new music, and importantly supporting up and coming artists, something we are very passionate about. SoundCloud Radio will be another way that creators can amplify their new music and fans can embrace a curated version of the SoundCloud platform in Australia.” 

SCA and SoundCloud announced an exclusive advertising partnership in 2019, and the radio network hopes this new venture will help give brands even more ways to to connect with SoundCloud’s highly engaged, young audience via partnership opportunities and expanded ad sales inventory.

SoundCloud Radio goes live at 6am on Monday, August 24.
