SEN reports podcast and streaming growth

Staff Writer

Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) appears to be benefitting from the AFL and NRL seasons being in full swing, reporting 523,800 SEN podcast downloads from 98,500 sports fans over the past week.

In the same period, it said there were 288,000 audio streams on the SEN app and 49,500 on its website.

The data is based on Whooshkaa figures from April 12 to 18.

It also reports unique users across its app and website at 433,200, as well as an additional 120,000 via Apple News.

“We have seen a strong upswing in audio consumption across our app and web platforms, particularly our podcasts, with downloads growing across recent weeks as the sporting discussion spans the week right across the country,” digital director, Simon Chapman, said.

SEN recently announced its in-stadium streaming experience for attendees at Marvel Stadium, with plans to expand the streaming capabilities to other venues.

It has also made moves to push into New Zealand.
