Shane Lowe departs Nova 91.9 Adelaide

Former Assistant Editor

Shane Lowe has departed Nova Adelaide Breakfast, leaving the Lewis and Lowe with Hayley Pearson Breakfast show.

In a statement released today, NOVA Entertainment said Shane is leaving Nova 91.9 and returning to Perth, to focus on family and friends.

“I have loved my time with Nova and have made some great friends
over the past 11 years,” said Shane.

“I will really miss Dylan and Hayley and the team at Nova Adelaide but I need to go back home to spend time with my mum, nephews and the rest of the family.”

Shane spent 11 years with Nova, starting out in 2006 on National Drive, and moving to Breakfast in 2011.

He was joined by Dylan Lewis in 2012 and the pair have hosted the Lewis and Lowe Breakfast show since (joined by Hayley Pearson in 2017).

“Shane is a really talented broadcaster and has had a great career with Nova over the past 11 years,” said NOVA Entertainment’s group programme director Paul Jackson.

“We would like to thank him for his passion and contribution during his time with the network and wish him all the very best for the future.”

Nova 91.9 has underperformed in Adelaide ever since the station launched.

Lewis and Lowe have never really threatened the dominance of their counterparts on Mix 102.3, and in their final survey together last week they rated 8.2% (-1.1).

In announcing Shane’s departure, NE revealed that Nova 91.9 Mornings announcer Jarrod Walsh will join Dylan Lewis and Haley Pearson on Breakfast.

The new lineup will start Monday October 15.

Shame, the other two should have gone. Jarrod has too much talent to join these two.

Think you’ll find Jarrod works best in a solo show Graham.

Sounds like hayley and dylan were pretty upset this morning. Hope they’re ok, tough times ahead…

So sad…I loved the humour Shane added to the show! Him and Dylan had such a beautiful and entertaining relationship so it’s going to be difficult to replace him!

Devastated to hear that Shane has “left” breakfast radio. He was an awesome talent with a great sense of humour and quick wit. He will be greatly missed. If they were concerned about ratings before … they will have no ratings now and no show left! Very sad 🙁
